Good astrology, bad event
A judgment on a child's misfortune.
I know I promised to write about Father Gabriele Amorth, and I will.
But I was reviewing a class I thought on Lunar Returns, came across this example, and I couldn’t resist it.
This is the natal chart of a famous Brazilian person — I won’t tell you who he is right now.
This is his natal chart.

I am not going to judge this chart, I’ll just point out the obvious testimonies related to the event.
1) The Mars/Moon conjunction, which is, by antiscion, opposed to Saturn;
2) The Venus/Sun conjunction;
3) The South Node on the tenth cusp;
4) Algol on the twelfth cusp; and
5) (for those who love these weird creatures) Uranus and Pluto conjunct (Pluto by antiscion) on the twelfth cusp.
I’ll also note down the seven key Arabian Parts. If you don’t know what they are, just remember they might function as an alternative position of the planets related to them (to those who know: I used the formula Asc + Fortune - Spirit for the Part of Despair, and Asc + Spirit - Fortune for the Part of Love).
Fortuna (related to the Moon): 04 26 Aries
Despair, or Necessity (Mercury): 16 27 Capricorn
Love (Venus): 28 23 Scorpio - on the sixth cusp.
Spirit (Sun): 10 24 Virgo
Courage, Bravery, or Valor (Mars): 15 04 Leo A bit too far to oppose Mars/Moon, but conjunct Saturn by antiscion.
Victory (Jupiter): 12 11 Capricorn
Captivity or Station (Saturn): 11 19 Taurus. A bit too far to be conjunct Saturn.
They might be useful later — to make the text easier, I’ll refer to them as “Part of [Planet associated]” (that is, whenever I want to mention the Part of Love, I’ll say “Part of Venus”).
The event I want to investigate happened when he was 6 years old.
Preliminary techniques: profections and progressions.
Profections do not help us much. It’s a seventh-house profection, which usually points to important times. There’s nothing “seventh-house” about the event, of course, he was too young to marry or begin a partnership, and whatever open enemies he might have had are lost in time. However, the lord of the profection is Jupiter, which is relevant, it might play a role here.
Secondary progressions, on the other hand, have a bit more to say on the matter.
Fortuna opposes the antiscion of the Part of Jupiter, conjuncts natal Ascendant and then conjuncts progressed Ascendant.
The Moon hits the natal Sun/Venus conjunction, then enter Taurus and hits the progressed Sun.
Ok, so there’s Jupiter, Ascendant, Ascendant, Sun, Venus, Sun.
The Sun might be important as the ruler of the third… but with the Ascendant being emphasized twice, it might also mean the native himself. Venus rules the eleventh, the twelfth, and the fourth houses — we’ll see which one is (or which are) relevant later.
This is the Solar Return for the event.

Well, the profections (and one testimony in the progressions) pointed at Jupiter. It rules the seventh in the natal chart and the first and fourth in this Return. I’d say that the first is more congruent with the progressions.
What is happening in this chart? There’s a Mars/Mercury conjunction, which closely opposes Venus by antiscion; the Moon is conjunct the fifth house (or opposed to the eleventh); Jupiter and Saturn are opposed by antiscion.
When we compare this chart with the natal chart, Solar Return Mars and Mercury are conjunct natal Fortuna (so, Venus by antiscion opposes the three of them).
Return Saturn is conjunct the natal eleventh cusp, which may help to explain some of the possibilities. Venus rules the Natal and Return eleventh.
That natal Moon/Mars conjunction is on the third cusp of the Solar Return, which puts natal Saturn, by antiscion, on the ninth.
The natal part of Mercury is conjunt the SR second house; the part of Spirit, to the SR Midheaven.
There is a lot going on, and not all of it seems to make sense. Let’s try to organize it.
The profections seem to highlight the Ascendant, so the things associated with Jupiter (ruler of the first in the Solar Return) and Mercury (ruler of the first in the natal chart) might be related to something happening to the body.
The Venus-related testimonies might be pointing to eleventh-house stuff.
What is happening to them? Well, Jupiter is opposed Saturn… which is in the eleventh house cusp.
Mercury is conjunct Mars (rules the tenth in the natal chart, which is highlighted by the Part of Spirit being on the SR Midheaven) and Fortuna (which might emphasize body-related stuff) and opposed Venus (again, eleventh-house). The Moon, as I said, is conjunct the fifth, but it might be body-related stuff opposing the eleventh.
But we still have the third-ninth axis highlighted, which doesn’t fit well. Also, what is the eleventh in this context? Too much oppositions for a sudden “gift from above”. Something happening to a friend doesn’t make much sense. Not all testimonies in a certain period have to be about the same event, of course, but this seems to be relevant.
Moreover, Mars also rules the sixth (in the natal chart) and the twelfth (in the Solar Return); Venus rules the same houses (6th in the SR, 12th in the radix), and both seem to be involved in the action.
The sixth makes sense — if it’s something related to the body, it’s probably either disease or accident, and both matters are sixth-house related. But what if the twelfth is involved, what is happening? Some kind of self-undoing? Something related to big beasts? Something with the feet?
The Arabian Parts by Natal Arc (when we subtract the Natal Ascendant of the Part and then add the Ascendant of the Return) don’t help us much, because the Ascendant in the Solar Return is almost exactly opposed the Ascendant in the Natal chart, which means the parts are almost exactly opposed their natal selves.
But let’s see what the Lunar Return brings us.

Well, Mars seems to be hightlighted. It rules the first and the sixth here, which confirms what we know so far — something bad happening to the body.
It is conjunct natal Saturn (this puts natal Mars and Moon on the Lunar Return by antiscion, although a bit too far).
Neptune on the twelfth seems to be emphasizing it — or, as it’s opposed Natal Fortuna, the sixth.
Saturn is right on the Midheaven - and both are conjunct the natal eleventh cusp. Venus (although a bit far from either the LR Midheaven or the natal eleventh) is conjunct Saturn by antiscion.
The Moon is exactly opposed Pluto, which doesn’t seem like a good thing, and means Pluto, by antiscion, is conjunct Saturn.
Mercury (which rules the first in the natal chart and the eleventh here) is conjunct Fortuna in the ninth cusp and, by antiscion, both are on the natal Ascendant, which is where Uranus is.
I’ll not mention any Arabian part here.
What we seem to have is:
This is something related to the body — either a disease, or an accident.
This has definitely something to do with either the tenth, the eleventh, or the twelfth… or all of them.
Well, what if these houses mean body parts?
These houses cover the legs. There are many diseases that might affect the legs, but in this Lunar Return, Uranus is on the Ascendant. In the natal chart, both it and Algol are on the twelfth (and, by antiscion, Pluto).
Mars is obviously important. OK, it rules relevant houses, but it’s also conjunct natal Ascendant (and SR tenth) ruler in the Solar Return, and opposed the Ascendant in the Lunar Return.
But if it’s an accident… could it mean that this entire part of the body, from the knee down, was hurt?
… yes. This boy got his foot trapped in the train rails during St. Peter’s Feast (which probably explains the third and ninth houses being highlighted) and lost his leg from the knee down.
We can even argue that the twelfth house is involved twice — as the foot trapped, and as self-undoing.
This is the chart for the famous (really; not just in Brazil, but the entire Latin America) singer, Roberto Carlos.

I hope you found this as impressive as I did.
See you soon!
